INTRODUCTION:
INDER BHANVER, M.D., PLLC is a professional limited liability company that was founded by Dr. Inder Bhanver, MD for the purpose of providing Comprehensive Mental Health / Psychiatric services including OFFICE BASED EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT OF mental health conditions. We provide comprehensive care to adults and seniors with diverse needs, backgrounds and diagnoses.
GOALS:
Dr. Bhanver founded this company with the goal of providing excellent standards of psychiatric / mental heath care available to everyone regardless of their diverse racial, ethnic, financial and educational backgrounds. Dr. Bhanver believes that everyone who wants to get better should have a chance for good quality and affordable care.
CLINICAL / SUPERVISORY/ ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Bhanver, MD has vast experience in clinical, administrative and supervisory work in diverse settings in NV and CA. He has clinical experience at various public and private facilities in California and Nevada (West Hills Hospital, Renown - formerly Washoe Medical Center, Northern NV Adult Mental Health - formerly NMHI) including in some instances serving on various hospital committees including but not limited to serving as Co-chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Acting Chief of Psychiatry for a 1200+ bed mental health hospital of the CA Department of State Hospitals (which was 80% forensic and 20% non-forensic).
FORENSIC/LEGAL/COURT EXPERIENCE: (Dec 2004 - Dec 2009): 5 YEARS.
In CA, Dr. Bhanver worked full time on forensic inpatient units with people in Penal Code 1370 deemed "Not Competent to stand Trial," and with Penal Code 1026 deemed "Not Guilty by reason of insanity." This fulltime work over 5 years in CA prepared Dr. Bhanver for numerous mental health issues that were overlapping with the legal and judicial system. Dr. Bhanver has 5 years of work experience that involved testifying in court in front of numerous judges, in front of numerous juries in the legal and court systems all over Northern CA regarding treatment, diagnosis and prognosis of patients in the field of psychiatry. He has appeared in court on numerous occassions including courts in Woodland (Yolo county), CA; Eureka (Humboldt county), CA; Napa (Napa county), CA; Marin County, Sacramento County, Vallejo (Solano county), in Northern CA.
CURRENT PRACTICE INFORMATION:
Currently, Dr. Bhanver practices in Reno, Nevada. Dr. Bhanver’s private office is conveniently located in Northwest Reno and is easily accessible from Interstate 80 / W. McCarran Blvd and is off Mae Anne Avenue at the intersection of Sierra Highlands drive. We are located above PIZZA PLUS in the building (Westridge Offices) behind Wal -Mart. The office is handicapped accessible. At your first visit, you should expect to meet with your doctor for an Initial Psychiatric evaluation or assessment. You would also get and sign all initial insurance or other information / paperwork. The frequency of subsequent appointments varies depending on clinical need including the patient’s stability status.
